What is the difference between three and two prong plugs?
The third prong is a grounding prong to provide safety to any appliance plugged in. Two pronged plugs present in a dwelling may mean the electrical system is a two wire system. Two wire systems are outdated and dangerous. The easiest way to make a two wire system is to install GFCI devices in line of outlet circuits in your home.
